Torso Sizing

Pack sizing is primarily based on torso length, not your overall height. If you are in between sizes, we recommend sizing up.

Small: 14.5"-17"

Medium: 17"-19.5"

Large: 19.5"-22"

Hipbelt Sizing

Hipbelt sizes are based on waist measurements. Measure your waist where it is most narrow, above your hips, or wherever you would like your hipbelt to sit. We recommend erring on the larger size when choosing a belt, so more padding will wrap around your waist. However, make sure your waist measurement is no smaller than the minimum circumference listed.

X-Small: recommended for waists between 25"-28.75" (length of padded portion: 22.75”; adjustable range 25”-35”)

Small: recommended for waists between 28.75"-31.75" (length of padded portion: 25.75”; adjustable range 28”-38”)

Medium: recommended for waists between 31.75"-34.75" (length of padded portion: 28.75”; adjustable range 31”-41”)

Large: recommended for waists between 34.75"-37.75" (length of padded portion: 31.75”; adjustable range 34”-44”)

X-Large: recommended for waists between 37.75"-47" (length of padded portion: 34.75”; adjustable range 37”-47”)

The Sundown uses a wide range of fabric variants throughout construction to achieve lasting durability without adding unnecessary weight.

Main body: EPX200 — Recycled 210d polyester face fabric, with a polyester reinforcement grid and a 70d ripstop polyester backing

Side pockets, straps, and hipbelt: UltraGrid — Recycled 210d nylon x 5mm double 200d Ultra™ grid

Front pocket: UltraStretch — Woven blend of nylon 6-6, Lycra®, and Ultra-PE

Bottom panel: EPX600 — Recycled 600d polyester face fabric, with a polyester reinforcement grid and a 70d ripstop polyester backing

Back panel: EPLX840 — Recycled 840d polyester face fabric featuring a ballistic weave, with a polyester reinforcement grid and 0.5 mil film backing.

Frame system: Two removable aluminum stays with a layer of 1/4” foam padding sewn-in along the back panel

The primary fabrics used throughout the Sundown are produced by Challenge Sailcloth and are made using recycled materials. All fabric variants feature C0 DWR treatments (no fluorocarbons). Additional information regarding the environmental considerations that have gone into the production of these fabrics can be found here.

*All of the of the primary fabrics we use are waterproof up to 200 psi, however due to small holes at seam locations, we recommend using a pack liner to ensure your gear stays dry in the event of sustained heavy rain. A simple and effective pack liner is included with purchase of the Sundown.

The Sundown fits within carry-on sizing requirements while flying. When not fully packed, it may also be used as an under-the-seat personal item.

The maximum load we recommend carrying is approximately 30-32 pounds. This rating based on comfort, and can vary depending on body build. Structurally the pack is able to handle heavier loads, but we do not recommend loading over 40 pounds frequently or for extended periods of time.
